A Wrecked Gallery

I don’t normally have complaints about the iPhone, since it is an incredible device, however today is a different story. Now, this is partly because of my own stupidity and partly because of the phone.

After about three days, I connected my iPhone to iTunes to perform a synchronization and I got some bizarre error, one I’ve never seen before.  So, I did what I do naturally… I unmount and then unplug my phone and reconnect it.

Then, I saw a message in iTunes telling me that I needed to restore my iPhone.  Again, I thought that it must be an error and I unmounted and unplugged my phone.  After reconnecting it, I realized that the message warning me of needing to restore my phone was still there.  So what do I do?

Without thinking, I just hit ‘Restore’.  It had been three days since my last sync and I automatically hit ‘Restore’.  The whole process went off without a hitch, until I looked at my photo gallery:

My iPhone 'Camera Roll'

My iPhone 'Camera Roll'

None of the photos were missing, save all of the photos I took at my kids’ Celebration Of Learning at school.  What was missing was the thumbnails of select photos that I’d either imported to or exported from my phone via other apps like Facebook, Flickit, Whatsapp etc.  The photos have all been saved to my iPhoto so I’m not concerned about losing the pictures; I can just delete them.

The thing is… it’s just very bizarre.

Status Quo

And it's time to frolic!

And it's time to frolic!

Not exactly a State Of The Union address… but much hasn’t changed in JeffLand.  We’re sort of in between sports at the moment and some time has been freed up for some relaxation and frolicking in the new-found sun!  Spring is almost here and I’m loving it.  The snow is melting and the brownish-greys of winter are slowly washing away with the greens of spring slowly making their way to the surface.  Slowly… a little too slowly if you ask me.  I’ll take it however it comes, though, since spring is infinitely better than winter.  And if I could ever get past the daylight savings time change… I’d be set.

The workplace has been crushing my soul every day and after a long, cold winter… I’m getting a little squirrelly and needing to get the #$%& out of there.  It’s not like I have anywhere I want to be or need to be, I just can’t stand being at my desk in that cubicle.  Perhaps a visit to the JeffLand embassy some place tropical is in order.  I’ll see what I can do about the national debt and setting it back a little.

RUTR 2010

It’s R-r-roll Up The Rim (or RUTR for the Canadian Internet folk) season again at Tim Hortons and nothing gets our hearts afluttter like combining coffee and the potential for winning prizes.

RUTR 2010 (pronounced ‘twenty ten’ like the cool kids say it) has over 31 million great prizes this year, including:

  • 40 Toyota Rav 4’s
  • 100 $10,000 cash prizes
  • 1,000 Toshiba netbooks
  • 25,000 $100 prepaid TimCards
  • 31,000,000+ donuts and coffees

I decided to take a year off from my RUTR off-season training since it didn’t do me much good last year; ending the 2009 campaign with a dismal 0.176 ERA (earned rims average). And, so far, it’s paying off! Two days into the season and my (Rimming? That really doesn’t sound good.) average is 0.500!!
